Race Update: 12 October 2016

Hi Everyone,

We strive to make GP Gloucester the best racing experience possible. One of our biggest challenges is parking. We also need to adhere to City requirements for tents and awnings. With this in mind, we’ve made some changes.

Entering Stage Fort Park
On both days, you’ll need to enter the park at the southern entrance. Follow Rt 127 south to Hough (set your GPS to 41 Hough Ave Gloucester MA). Parking attendants will be on hand to help. If the lot is full, please use the auxiliary parking at Gloucester High School (32 Leslie O Johnson Road).

Club Row
We’ve moved Club Row tents right on the race course in the area we’ve traditionally placed the Beer tent and other elements of our vendor expo. Each Club Row spot will be allocated a parking spot in close proximity to the course crossing closest to Club Row.

If you purchased a Club Row spot, simply print your BIkeReg receipt or have it accessible on your phone. Show the parking attendant. You’ll be allowed access to Club Row parking.

We’ll be emailing you all individually with your Club Row tent location.

UCI Team Parking
The new parking area is in the upper parking lot just adjacent to the finish line (aka the former Club Row area). This new location is flat and more suitable for those with larger vehicles. It also allows City parking staff to better use the land in the traditional UCI parking area to get more vehicles in. If you’re arriving on Saturday or Sunday, please print your BikeReg receipt or have accessible on your phone.
Please remember, UCI team parking is for your large vehicle. A purchased UCI team parking spot does not mean that your team of 10 riders can park all their vehicles near your spot.

Open RV Parking
At the northern entrance to the park, there’s a baseball field called Boudreau Field. The parking lot for that field will be open as a first-come, first-served, parking area for RVs and other large vehicles. No overnight parking allowed.

Notes:

Overflow Parking - if the Stage Fort Parking lot fills, please head north on Rt 127 and go to Gloucester High School. You can enjoy the short pedal back to the park for a little warm up.

Please arrive early for your race. It may take a little time to get you parked. When you get stressed about a missed start, it affects those around you. I know, because I spoke to the parking attendants last year. Remember they are there to help.

Nudity. Please be mindful that there are families in the park. If you’re in the southern area of the park, there are homes near the park entrance. They saw you naked last year.

Camping or sleeping at the park. Sorry, but this is prohibited.

Georgia Way, Tolman Ave and the other small streets adjacent to the southern part of Sage Fort Park are residential areas. Please don’t park there. If you see one of the residents, wave. Say hello. It will offset the yelling and curse words they heard last year from a few bad apples who parked where they shouldn’t because they were running late.

I hope you enjoy this year's Gran Prix of Gloucester.
Best,
Paul Boudreau
Event Director
